Key achievements

Scaled a fragile IoT platform. Moved a cloud platform to an event-driven, idempotent architecture, unlocking auto-scaling for services limited to a single production instance.

Built and grew teams. Hired 15+ engineers and led teams of 3 to 8 across four companies, with weekly 1:1s and structured performance reviews. Several engineers I mentored were promoted.

Lead a squad of up to 7 engineers across frontend, backend and cloud. Hired 4. Weekly 1:1s and formal performance reviews every 6 months.
Drove the move to an event-driven architecture and solved idempotency issues, enabling auto-scaling for services that could only run as a single instance.
Owned delivery of device connectivity and platform features, covering roughly 600 sites and 2,000+ connected devices streaming telemetry every minute.
Set up architecture reviews, design docs and delivery tracking, with standards for scalability and backward compatibility.
